El objetivo de este trabajo de investigacin es analizar la creacin de riqueza asociada a las ofertas pblicas de adquisicin de acciones en el mercado de valores espaol. Se contrasta la posible existencia de una motivacin disciplinaria que propiciara la adquisicin de empresas con una gestin ineficiente, derivada de la existencia de comportamientos oportunistas de los directivos y, al mismo tiempo, se analiza si existen en la empresa adquiriente motivaciones gerenciales que conduciran a actuaciones discrecionales no generadoras de riqueza. De acuerdo con el objetivo planteado, el trabajo se ha estructurado en cuatro captulos. En los tres primeros captulos se analiza el cuerpo terico en que se fundamenta esta investigacin y en el cuarto se describe la base de datos uilizada, la metodologa y se exponen y discuten los resultados obtenidos.
