About the Author Rafael Garca Alonso (Madrid, 1956) es profesor en el Departamento de Sociologa del Arte y de la Literatura en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Su tesis doctoral vers sobre Robert Musil y el hombre escindido (Mencin en el XII Premio Anthropos de Ensayo). Entre sus publicaciones destacan el libro Ensayos sobre literatura filosfica: G. Simmel, R. Musil, R. M. Rilke, K. Kraus, W. Benjamin y J. Roth (Siglo XXI, 1995) y El nufrago ilusionado. La esttica de Ortega y Gasset (Siglo XXI, 1997). Ha participado en varios libros colectivos y colabora asiduamente en diversas revistas culturales.
