Este estudio aborda el fenmeno de la paternidad adolescente desde un enfoque de gnero. En l, se sita la paternidad como un fenmeno ejercido por un actor individual inmerso en un conjunto de relaciones familiares. Se usa la visin terica de George Herbert Mead para darle contenido a la nocin de actor y a la construccin de su subjetividad. Se estudia la paternidad adolescente de jvenes chilenos que poseen dos rasgos: primero, que tienen un hijo/a de un ao o menos de edad; es decir estos son padres nuevos que estn en un proceso de aprendizaje y de adaptacin a sus circunstancias; segundo, estos jvenes estn en una relacin de pareja con la madre biolgica. Las preguntas de investigacin son cmo se expresa la paternidad en el primer ao de vida del primer hijo/a? y cmo se visualiza la relacin de pareja en proceso de adaptacin a sus nuevas circunstancias de vida?
