Presenta los estudios efectuados en los continentes en donde se ha establecido esta plaga. La serie de comportamientos e interrelaciones que se llevan a cabo entre las especies de abeja Apis mellifera hospedadoras y el escarabajo, que han permitido la coadaptacin. Siendo la abeja uno de los insectos sociales ms complejos, es fascinante el proceso que permiti al escarabajo superar los obstculos que lo llevaron a colonizar la colmena, este nicho ecolgico, incrementando as sus posibilidades de reproduccin y desarrollo.
