El presente estudio intenta comprender el proceso en que las escuelas primarias se organizan para su operacin. La construccin conceptual que se deriv, tuvo sus orgenes en la reflexin sobre el nivel de condicionamiento de la estructura organizativa escolar sobre la concrecin de la puesta en marcha del Proyecto Escolar. El realizar un anlisis comparativo entre dos escuelas sobre cmo se vive la experiencia del Proyecto Escolar, tuvo como resultado hallazgos que dan cuenta de la forma en que los colectivos docentes interactan, se organizan, distribuyen y dan seguimiento a sus tareas conjuntas, toman acuerdos y enfrentan los conflictos. Se describe la manera en que los sujetos, al ejercer su margen de accin, influyen en el funcionamiento de la escuela e inciden de manera importante en su constitucin cotidiana. La construccin del producto demand enfrentamiento con las diversas teoras de la organizacin escolar, las que junto a la perspectiva micropoltica, coadyuvaron a definir un punto de equilibrio: concebir a la escuela como constituida por mandato institucional, pero fuertemente determinada por las condiciones especficas generadas por los individuos que la conforma.
