La soja (Glycine max (L.) Merr.), es en la actualidad el cultivo ms importante de Argentina, no solo por la magnitud del rea que ocupa, sino, fundamentalmente, porque la mayor parte de su produccin se destina a la exportacin. Numerosas enfermedades pueden afectar al cultivo de soja. El Sndrome de Muerte Sbita es una enfermedad fngica, que en ataques severos puede producir disminuciones de rendimiento que varan entre el 20 y el 80%, dependiendo del cultivar y del momento de infeccin. En Argentina se ha determinado la presencia de F. tucumaniae y F. virguliforme; siendo este ultimo el ms importante por ser el ms patognico. En este trabajo fue posible comprobar, mediante PCR en tiempo real, la expresin diferencial del gen Ugd, el cual presenta alta homologa con la protena UDPglucosa 6deshidrogenasa y a la UDPglucosa/GDPmanosa deshidrogenasa. Se conoce que estas enzimas participan en la biosntesis de pared celular, proceso que se ve claramente modificado durante los diferentes estadios de la infeccin fngica.
