Este tomo II es continuacin del tomo I. Ambos tomos contienen mi tesis doctoral que trata del estudio y la edicin crtica de los sainetes originales de Toms Luceo y Becerra (18441933). Este autor dramtico es un digno sucesor de Ramn de la Cruz por su manera de escribir sainetes, siguiendo las pautas tradicionales del estilo clsico. Desde su primer estreno en 1870, Cuadros al fresco, hasta 1932, ao de su ltimo estreno, Adula y vencers o El caballo de Fernando VII, Toms Luceo fue enriqueciendo la escena madrilea con su aportacin dramtica en forma de sainetes, zarzuelas y comedias, tanto originales y en colaboracin, como adaptaciones de autores clsicos y traducciones de obras francesas.
