Dabei knnten Lehrer und Eltern durch eine sinnvolle Zusammenarbeit sehr viel gemeinsam bewirken. In dieser Arbeit vergleiche ich die Elternarbeit an staatlichen Schulen in Niedersachsen mit der an Waldorfschulen am Beispiel von Medienerziehung. Fr das Leben in unserer Medien und Informationsgesellschaft wird der kompetente Umgang mit Medien aller Art zunehmend zu einer wichtigen Schlsselqualifikation. Erziehung und Bildung haben daher auch die Aufgabe, Heranwachsende dabei zu untersttzen, selbstbestimmt, kompetent, kreativ, kritisch und sozial verantwortlich mit Medien umzugehen" (Arbeiter 2000: 13). Doch auch fr Erwachsene ist der Umgang mit Medien eine Herausforderung, und in vielen Fllen sind sie ihren Kindern in diesem Punkt sogar unterlegen (vgl. Buermann 2000: 689) ein Umstand, der das Thema umso problematischer gestaltet. Daher ist vorstellbar, dass gerade in diesem Bereich erhhter Bedarf an (Lehrerbildung und) Elternarbeit notwendig ist. In dieser Arbeit werde ich zunchst die gesetzlichen Grundlagen fr Elternarbeit allgemein klren sowie den Begriff Medienkompetenz" definieren. In den Kapiteln 3 und 4 erlutere ich, jeweils fr staatliche Schulen in Niedersachsen und Waldorfschulen, weitere, fr die Fragestellung relevante gesetzliche Vorgaben in Bezug auf Elternarbeit und Medienerziehung. Im Weiteren zeige ich mgliche Schnittstellen zwischen Elternarbeit und Medienerziehung auf. Abschlieend werde ich die Ergebnisse miteinander vergleichen.
