The relation between India and Germany has a long history.On 23rd March 1505, three merchants from Ausberg and Nuremberg, Hans Mayr, Balthasar Sprenger and Ulrich Imhoff,set sail for India on three ships as representatives of the first India consortium of German traders,to engage in barter trade with Indian merchants in search of precious stones and spices.
