El propsito de esta investigacin es formular un diagnstico acerca de la suficiencia e insuficiencia de los envases de medicamentos genricos que utilizan los adultos mayores y elaborar conclusiones que permitan a los gestores del gobierno y a los productores de packs mejorar mediante el diseo de empaques y hacer ms fcil y seguro su empleo. En el contexto de Colombia y con proyeccin al futuro. Se realiz una investigacin: cuantitativa y cualitativa en adultos mayores de 65 aos, observando comportamientos y actitudes frente a 10 empaques de medicamentos genricos, se organizaron pruebas: ergonmicas, visuales, de legibilidad, comprensin de texto, a su vez se entrevistaron a 10 profesionales de la salud para concertar conclusiones y elaborar de manera precisa el perfil del usuario. En consecuencia, la dificultad radica en que los empaques evaluados, carecen de elementos grficos y estructurales adecuados. Debido a la prdida progresiva de las facultades propias de la edad, se deben implementar mejoras en los empaques siendo los organismos de control, las industrias farmacuticas las que deben de tomar las acciones pertinentes.
