Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this book. Some of the illustrations were hard to read, and I expected more detailed histories. It felt more like a survey than a comprehensive look at languages. Wouldn't recommend for serious study.

Interesting but Lacks Depth
While 'A Language History of the World' covers many languages, I found some sections a bit rushed. It’s great for a general overview, but if you’re looking for deep dives, you might be disappointed. Still, it’s a good read for casual interest!

Shipping Issues, but Worth the Wait
Received the book a week late, which was frustrating. However, once I got it, I couldn't put it down! The stories behind various languages are so engaging. Just make sure you order well in advance if it’s for a specific occasion!
