Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht verschiedene Elemente der ArztPatientKommunikation und ihren Einfluss auf die Compliance der Patienten. Es wird ein umfangreiches Modell entwickelt, das die Bedeutung subjektiver Theorien und Kontrollberzeugungen hervorhebt sowie Risikoaspekte thematisiert. Diese Aspekte beeinflussen die Wahrnehmung der Konsultation sowie Handlungskonsequenzen. 55 Patienten, die wegen akuter Atemwegsinfektionen ein Antibiotikum verordnet bekamen, und ihre rzte wurden zu Aspekten der Konsultation befragt. Von den Patienten wurden zudem Angaben zu Patiententheorien, Kontrollberzeugungen, zum allgemeinen Gesundheitsverhalten und zum Umgang mit Medikamenten erhoben. Es zeigte sich, dass sowohl rzte als auch Patienten mit der Konsultation zufrieden waren; alle Patienten nahmen ihre Medikamente verordnungsgem ein. Allerdings ergaben sich Diskrepanzen in spezifischen Urteilen von rzten und Patienten: die Einschtzung der Erkrankungsschwere und die Information ber Nebenwirkungen. Compliance ist kein Indikator fr gelungene Kommunikation; vielmehr besttigte sich die Bedeutung subjektiver Erklrungsmodelle.
