Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Challenging Environments: Earth & Space 2004 is the Proceedings of the Ninth Biennial Conference organized by the Aerospace Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The conference was held in League City/ Houston, Texas, from March 710, 2004. Conference attendees addressed technology challenges relevant to Space, Earth, and other planetary bodies including the Moon and Mars. The goal was to create a multidisciplinary program with a dynamism that would encourage technology transfer between those conducting research and development work in Space and on Earth and those practicing in civil engineering and aerospace disciplines.
