(Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) Das Konzept des Entdeckenden Lernens, das in den 1970er Jahren im Zuge der Reformbemhungen gefordert wurde, knpft an ltere erziehungswissenschaftliche Ideen an (z.B. Dewey) und berschneidet sich mit anderen pdagogischen Begriffen, wie etwa Roths originaler Begegnung'. Das Entdeckende Lernen fordert den Lerner heraus, sich eigenstndig mit einem Thema auseinander zu setzen: So soll er selbstndig Problemstellungen erkennen, Fragen entwickeln, Hypothesen bilden, Lsungswege und Erklrungen konzipieren, Antworten formulieren und diese vor Anderen prsentieren. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschftigt sich mit dem Entdeckenden Lernen im Geschichtsunterricht, wobei insbesondere die Umsetzung dieses Konzeptes im Archiv betrachtet werden soll. Dazu wird in einem ersten Abschnitt zunchst das Konzept des Entdeckenden Lernens nher betrachtet, whrend im zweiten Abschnitt das Archiv als auerschulischer Lernort im Vordergrund steht.
