Die Mitbestimmung der Arbeitnehmer wird in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland seit Jahrzehnten lebhaft diskutiert. Dabei konzentriert sich die Auseinandersetzung in der let ten Zeit allerdings weitgehend auf die Zusammensetzung der Aufsichtsdite so da bei dieser Dis kussion Uber die 'Mitbestimmungsarithmerlk' allzu leicht das ei gentliche Problem der Mitbestimmung die Gestal tung von Entschei dungsprozessen in Unternehmen vernachHissigt wird. Jenseits aller ideologischen und politischen Positionen ist der Zu sammenhang zwischen Entscheidungsprozessen in Organisationen und der Mitbestimmung sowie die KHirung der Voraussetzungen fUr eine erweiterte Einflu moglichkeit des einzelnen Arbeitnehmers auf das Unternehmensgeschehen von besonderem wissenschaftlichen In teresse. Aufbauend auf einer Auseinandersetzung mit Hypothesen Uber Determinanten und Ablauf von Individualentscheidungsprozes sen werden die wesentlichen Ansatze zur Erklarung oder Gestaltung von Entscheidungsprozessen in Organisationen auf ihren Erkenntnis wert hinsichtlich des Mitbestimmungsproblems UberprUft. Die dar Uber hinaus entwickelten Vorstellungen zur Organisationsstruktur und zur Gestaltungvon Entscheidungsprozessen zielen auf eine mog liche Entwicklungsrichtung der Mitbestimmung.
