The study aims at documenting the human dimensions of land use with discussing the state of management and evaluating its expected environmental consequences in the context of Bangsi River floodplain. Ground verified multidate Google images from 2000 to 2010 have been used to describe the gradual land transformation. The study shows a rapid unwise and uncontrolled industrial expansion in this duration. The full blown environmental consequences of such mismanagement of expansion are not apparent yet but the present growth and pollution state reveals the future detrimental effects. Drainage congestion and water logging problem for infrastructure and road network development, health issues for industrial pollution and agricultural loss for rapid conversion of land use and pollution has been documented and mapped extensively to indicate the effects. The study concludes that in near future the studied area will face fatal peril from various environmental consequences and the persons/institutions that are related with such development activities; they have to be concern with sustainable use of natural resources and responsible to use the application of laws.
