Insolvenzursachenanalysen besttigen diese Notwendigkeit und zeigen, dass eine fehlende oder unzureichende Unternehmensplanung die Wettbewerbsfhigkeit eines Unternehmens einschrnken und im schlimmsten Falle die Existenz bedrohen kann1. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, ein betriebswirtschaftliches Instrument zur Untersttzung der unverzichtbaren Planungsaufgaben eines Unternehmers in einem mittelstndischen Grohandelsbetrieb zu entwickeln. Dabei ist es wichtig, dass das Instrument auf betriebliche Entscheidungen vorbereiten kann, indem es Auswirkungen von Handlungen, die sowohl einzeln als auch in Kombination vorgenommen werden knnen, auf ein zuvor definiertes Oberziel (z.B. Rentabilittsziel) unmittelbar aufzeigt. Beispiele fr solche Handlungen wren z.B. Erhhung der Verkaufsmengen oder der Verkaufspreise, Senkung der Wareneinsatzkosten oder der Verwaltungskosten. Idealerweise handelt es sich bei dem zu entwickelnden Instrument um ein Kennzahlensystem, da die in der Planung formulierten Unternehmungsziele oftmals in Form von Kennzahlen ausgedrckt werden. Das Kennzahlensystem soll es dem Unternehmer einer KMU also ermglichen, Plansimulationen (auch als WhatIfAnalysen bekannt) durchfhren zu knnen. Mit WhatIfAnalysen werden mgliche Handlungsalternativen durchgespielt bzw. simuliert.
