Der Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien ist vor dem Hintergrund eines zukunftigen Ausstiegs aus der Kernenergie, des stetig steigenden Energiebedarfs und des Klimawandels ein immer wichtigeres Thema der Energiepolitik. Nach dem Energiekonzept der Bundesregierung sollen die raumplanerischen Steuerungsmoglichkeiten von Bund, Landern und Kommunen dazu genutzt werden, die Potentiale der Windenergie, aber auch anderer Formen der erneuerbaren Energien optimal zu erschliessen. Der damit verbundene Flachenbedarf stellt die Raumordnung und die Bauleitplanung vor neue Herausforderungen. Das Symposium des Zentralinstituts fur Raumplanung widmete sich den Fragen, ob und inwieweit die Produktion regenerativer Energien mit den vorhandenen Planungsinstrumenten gesteuert werden kann oder ob ein Regelungsbedarf besteht. Das Zentralinstitut fur Raumplanung macht traditionsgemass mit dem vorliegenden Tagungsband samtliche Vortrage und die Zusammenfassungen der Diskussionen der Veranstaltung am 13. Mai 2011 der interessierten Offentlichkeit zuganglich.
