Forschungsarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Germanistik Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,7, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universitt Hannover (Seminar fr deutsche Literatur und Sprache), Veranstaltung: FLS Drama und Theater der Weimarer Republik II, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Thema der Arbeit ist die vergleichende Analyse von fnf Dramen Ernst Tollers aus der Zeit der Weimarer Republik. Untersucht werden 'Die Wandlung' (1917/18), 'Masse Mensch' (1919), 'Hinkemann' (1921/22), 'Hoppla, wir leben!' (1927) und 'Feuer aus den Kesseln' (1930). (Die Wandlung ist zwar noch im ausgehenden Kaiserreich entstanden, aber erst 1919 gedruckt und uraufgefhrt worden, so dass das Stck hier zu Tollers Werken aus der Weimarer Zeit gezhlt wird.) Ziel des Vergleichs ist es, herauszufinden, in welche Richtung sich das dramatische Schaffen Ernst Tollers whrend der Zeit der Weimarer Republik entwickelt hat. Hierbei liegt der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit auf den inhaltlichen und nicht auf den formalen Aspekten der Dramen. Dabei wird auch untersucht, ob und inwieweit sich aus den Stcken ein ethischer und politischer berzeugungswandel des Dichters ablesen lsst. Zu diesem Zweck erfolgt eine vergleichende Inhaltsanalyse der Dramen unter den Aspekten: Thema des Dramas, Figuren, Sprache und surrealistische Elemente, sowie eine Untersuchung verschiedener in den Dramen wiederkehrender Themenfelder: Individuum und Gemeinschaft, Sieg und Scheitern der Revolution, Pazifismus gegen Gewalt, Religion, Menschheitsglaube und religise Symbolik. Unter jedem Punkt der Analyse erfolgt eine chronologische Abhandlung der fnf Dramen. Ergnzend und vergleichend werden verschiedene Darstellungen ber Werk und Leben Ernst Tollers herangezogen. Auf Grund der angestrebten Krze der Forschungsarbeit kann die Auseinandersetzung mit der Sekundrliteratur jedoch nur schlaglichtartig erfolgen. Auch musste aus der inzwischen ziemlich umfangreichen Literatur zu Ernst Toller eine Auswahl getroffen werden. Ich habe
