Befasst man sich mit dem Thema, so wird schnell klar, dass zur Diplomatie auch militrisches Protokoll gehrt. Dies uert sich fr jeden hohen Gast der Bundesrepublik sowie fr deutsche Gste im Ausland durch die jeweils entgegengebrachte Wertschtzung. Hier stellt sich jedoch die Frage, wie ein abstraktes Gebilde, z.B. ein Staat, diese vermitteln kann. Aus diesem Grund verwendet die Diplomatie eine international bliche und anerkannte 'Zeichensprache', um Rang und Wichtigkeit einzelner Wrdentrger zu definieren; deren Wertschtzung durch den Gastgeber sowie ggf. politische Absichten zu verdeutlichen. Sie dient damit eigenen politischen Interessen und schafft, sozusagen 'durch die Blume', den Rahmen fr die weitere Zusammenarbeit. Die Hausarbeit untersucht nun die Teile des diplomatischen Protokolls, die von militrischer Seite ausgefhrt werden. Doch was versteht man unter 'militrischem Zeremoniell'? Hier wrde man vielleicht an Truppenparaden, Wachdienst und Wachablsung, militrisches Gren und Melden, Salutschieen und Flaggenparaden oder einfach 'nur' die Rangordnung denken. All dies ist grundstzlich richtig (wenn auch nicht vollstndig). Die Arbeit konzentriert sich jedoch, wie bereits genannt, auf die Darstellung staatlicher Souvernitt nach auen, also das militrische Zeremoniell und staatliche Symbole bei Staatsbesuchen und zu wichtigen ffentlichen Anlssen. Dazu wird allerdings nicht dessen Rolle in der Diplomatie erlutert, sondern das militrische Zeremoniell an sich beschrieben. Als weitere Eingrenzung, wir
