Thema der Arbeit ist das Erleben von Frauen, die sich aufgrund der Diagnose DownSyndrom nach prnataler Diagnostik fr ihr Kind mit DownSyndrom entschieden haben, in der Zeit der Schwangerschaft von der Entscheidung fr ihr Kind mit DownSyndrom bis hin zur Geburt. Der Fokus liegt hierbei auf der MutterKindBeziehung und der Auseinandersetzung mit der neuen Situation, ein Kind mit DownSyndrom zu bekommen. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit geht es um die Darstellung von prnataldiagnostischen Verfahren, die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Schwangerschaftserleben von Frauen, die Entscheidungsfindung fr oder gegen die Geburt eines Kindes mit Behinderung sowie die Darstellung theoretischer Konzepte zum Thema Auseinandersetzung mit der neuen Situation, ein Kind mit DownSyndrom zu bekommen. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit werden Interviews von Mttern, die sich nach einem Hinweis oder positiven Befund fr ein Kind mit DownSyndrom entschieden haben, analysiert, um Aussagen ber die MutterKindBeziehung und die Auseinandersetzung mit der neuen Situation, ein Kind mit DownSyndrom zu bekommen, zu erhalten.
