El Partido de la Revolucin Democrtica (PRD) represent y aglutin las esperanzas del movimento de izquierda en Mxico durante 20 aos. La lucha interna entre la burocracia partidaria y su ex candidato presidencial del 2006, Andrs Manuel Lpez Obrador, autonombrado Presidente Legtimo de Mxico, pone de manifiesto que el PRD no podr convertirse en un Partido Poltico consolidado e institucionalizado. La esperanza est perdida. La historia del PRD y su anlisis es enmarcada a travs de las etapas de maduracin que como partido poltico debe superar hasta llegar a la institucionalizacin, de acuerdo a Samuel Huntington. Sin embargo, la institucionalizacin no ha llegado y es una esperanza perdida. El movimiento identificado como PRD tiende a estancarse en un partido de Diputados plurinominales sin presencia mayoritaria importante en ninguna regin del Pas, como la han demostrado los ltimos resultados electorales en Mxico, incluso el Gobierno del Distrito Federal, que an conservan, estara en peligro de perderse el prximo ao 2012.
