Esta investigacin intenta, por un lado, analizar de donde proceden los estereotipos sociales de la enfermera, en alumnos preuniversitarios, 12o ao, de treinta y dos Escuelas Secundarias, en Lisboa. Por otro, realizamos un anlisis comparativo del estereotipo social de la enfermera de acuerdo a las reas de inters de los alumnos (agrupamientos tecnologa y humanidades, problemticas sociales y valores) y con el sexo. En esta encuesta un estudio exploratorio y un estudio descriptivo y analtico , se procura determinar si ser el agrupamiento humanidades o tecnologa el que determinar la supremaca relativamente al modelo paradigmtico de enfermera: cuidar o tratar. El estereotipo social ligado al paradigma de la enfermera del cuidar como cuidador o cuidadoso , basado en relaciones humanas, es expresivo en los valores vinculados a la corriente moralista y humanista y el estereotipo paradigmtico de la enfermera del tratar como tratamiento est ligado a la corriente de valores de la tcnica. La revisin de la literatura el marco terico se fundamenta en la representacin social, categorizacin social, identidad social y estereotipo social.
