En este trabajo se analiza la incidencia que ha tenido la incursin del Carnaval SolOriental sobre las prcticas pedaggicas, la construccin de la ciudad, el ejercicio de la ciudadana y el desarrollo psicolgico de los estudiantes en la Institucin Educativa Distrital Los Soches. La preparacin del carnaval y la apuesta por generar el currculo de la IED con base en la educacin artstica suscita nuevas vas de creacin y apropiacin de diversos saberes, de interaccin entre sus agentes y la ruptura con las prcticas tradicionales de la escuela. La apuesta por la celebracin de la fiesta propicia otras maneras de relacin con la ciudad, de participacin e inclusin, de promover la solidaridad y de potenciar el desarrollo motriz, cognitivo y moral de los nios. Por lo tanto, la investigacin devela, a partir de una aproximacin etnogrfica e interpretativa, las transformaciones y los significados que, para la escuela y quienes comparten sus vidas en este espacio, tiene la celebracin del Carnaval y su carcter de eje articulador del currculo. De igual manera se muestra la importancia y las mltiples posibilidades que tiene abordar la investigacin en Psicologa y educacin.
