El presente libro analiza la produccin cinematogrfica argentina tanto el estilo ficcin como el estilo documental entre 1984 y 2007, con el fin de dar cuenta de los distintos relatos en torno a la ltima dictadura militar argentina. El autor no hace foco en las representaciones estticas sino en las estrategias narrativas, es decir, el relato audiovisual. As, el libro arroja luz respecto a qu temas y motivos recurrentes el cine ha puesto en pantalla; anlisis que se enriquece con la perspectiva de los estudios sobre genocidio. De este modo, no slo le permite indagar lo sucedido en la Argentina, sino tambin preguntarse sobre los efectos producidos: las caractersticas de una sociedad reconfigurada por un genocidio. De igual forma, el abordaje propuesto tiene como objetivo efectuar un anlisis comparativo de las pelculas, ya que es en la propia comparacin donde el autor encuentra respuestas a sus interrogantes.
