En este trabajo de Tesis, se logr encontrar las condiciones para la sntesis de nanopartculas semiconductoras de CdS, con propiedades fotofsicas diferentes. Se realiz un estudio de sus propiedades fotofsicas, proponindose un esquema de recombinacin de cargas. Adems se estudi la interaccin con detergentes y derivados de los mismos, se propusieron mecanismos de interaccin de los detergentes con las nanopartculas. Se encontr la posibilidad de que los detergentes sean utilizados para disolver sustancias orgnicas de manera tal de aumentar su interaccin con la superficie de las nanopartculas. Finalmente, se estudi la interaccin de las nanopartculas con donantes y aceptores de electrones, se encontraron efectos considerables sobre la fluorescencia de las nanopartculas, abriendo la posibilidad de utilizar estos sistemas como degradantes de contaminantes orgnicos, en combinacin con detergentes en el caso que, por la baja solubilidad del compuesto orgnico sea necesario la utilizacin de detergentes.
