Este libro recoge cuatro trabajos relacionados con la Convencin de las Naciones Unidas sobre los Contratos de Compraventa Internacional de Mercaderas. En ellos, se presentan algunas cuestiones generales, tales como los antecedentes e importancia jurdico econmica al igual que destaca las aplicaciones alternativas que han hecho varios tribunales en el mundo al reconocerla bien sea como reflejo de la lex mercatoria o como referente para la interpretacin dada a las normas nacionales, tal como sucede en algunos fallos colombianos que se explican en el texto. Tambin se incluye un detallado estudio sobre la autonoma conflictual en el contexto de la mencionada Convencin y los desarrollos que este principio fundamental del Derecho Internacional Privado ha tenido en los tribunales internacionales. Adicionalmente se incluyen dos estudios sobre recientes fallos latinoamericanos, como es una sentencia del Tribunal Superior de Cuba y una de la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Colombia, fundamentados en la Convencin sobre Compraventa Internacional.
