Evaluation of Poverty Eradication in South Eastern Nigeria is a study which employed rigorous empirical analysis to assess the performance of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP). Inter alia the findings indicate that NAPEP has failed to reduce poverty among project beneficiaries: the core poor were badly targetted: and the probability model predicts that male beneficiaries are twice as likely to do better in loan repayment than female folks.
