Dans le sillage des commemorations du cent cinquantenaire de l'Origine des especes, un colloque intitule Perspectives sur l'evolution et la creation: entre savoir et speculation s'est tenu en juin 2010 a Lyon. Au cours de ce colloque furent abordees principalement deux facettes des questions soulevees par la theorie de l'evolution et ses rapports a la societe. La premiere problematique abordee est celle de l'organisme individuel. Depuis le XIXe siecle, organisme est devenu un terme de biologie evolutionniste, mais sa signification theorique et son statut logique demeurent aujourd'hui a bien des egards problematique. L'organisme individuel etant concu comme plus ou moins passif dans l'evolution phylogenetique, la question s'est posee de savoir dans quelle mesure pareil niveau d'organisation constitue, a proprement parler, une unite de selection. L'autre problematique concerne le debat interdisciplinaire. Dans un contexte polemique qui s'emploie presentement a opposer evolutionnisme et creationnisme, il s'agissait d'envisager une reflexion philosophique sur le rapport entre science, metaphysique et religion; de renouer les fils du dialogue entre ces champs reflexifs, sans les confondre ni les separer, pour sortir de certaines impasses historiques et conceptuelles dont souffre le debat contemporain.
