Ergebnisse der empirischen Glcksforschung aus Psychologie und Soziologie werden vorgestellt. Ein Kapitel widmet sich der langen Tradition der abendlndischen Glcksphilosophie von Epikur bis Nietzsche. Schlielich formuliert die Autorin ausgehend von existenzphilosophischanthropologischen berlegungen zum guten Leben als erflltem Leben, das mit innerer Zustimmung gelebt wird, in anderen Worten einem Leben, das um seiner selbst willen gelebt wird, ein eigenstndiges Modell existentieller Lebensqualitt, basierend auf vier existentiellen Grundmotivationen. In Form eines neuen Fragebogens, dessen Konstruktion im empirischen Teil ausfhrlich beschrieben ist, wurde das Modell im Rahmen einer Therapieevaluationsstudie an einer Gruppe suchtkranker Patienten erprobt. Es ergaben sich einerseits deutliche Hinweise auf einen guten Erfolg von existenzanalytischer Psychotherapie bei Suchtkranken und andererseits auf die Eignung der 'existentiellen Lebensqualitt' als OutcomeKriterium im Rahmen der Psychotherapieforschung.
