This expert system can diagnose spinning process faults and by removing respective causes of these faults it is possible to produce high quality yarn. It can also reduce the costs by enabling the lower paid people to do the same task which is performed by the higher paid. In the development of an expert system the knowledge base is the key part and in this case it is developed by using data of spinning process faults which was gathered by capturing the knowledge of domain experts. Expert systems are free of any limitations that are associated with the human experts.
