Die Fachtagung "Expertensysteme '87 Konzepte und Werkzeuge" ist die erste Tagung des German Chapter der ACM zu diesem Themengebiet und eine der ersten wissenschaftlichen Fachtagungen in Deutschland, die sich speziell mit dieser Wissenschaftsdisziplin befat. Im Jahre 1987 erstaunt dies um so mehr, als seit dem Auftauchen der ersten Prototypen solcher Systeme Mitte der siebziger Jahre, zunchst noch unter der Bezeichnung "Produktionssysteme" und "regelbasierte Systeme", bereits ber eine Dekade vergangen ist. Der Begriff "Expertensysteme", der sich zu Beginn der achtziger Jahre auf breiter Ebene durchgesetzt hat, manifestiert aber auch einen Wandel der Wissensschaftsdisziplin. Whrend "regelbasierte Systeme" als Studienobjekt in der knstlichen Intelligenz und Kognitionswissenschaft auf eine langjhrige Tradition zurckblicken und letztlich von den durch E.L.Post in den vierziger Jahren entwickelten Ersetzungssystemen ihren Ausgang nahmen, artikuliert der Begriff "Expertensystem" einen Anspruch, der interdisziplinr in die Anwendungsgebiete solcher Systeme hineinreicht. Dort im Anwendungsgebiet finden sich nmlich die menschlichen Experten, an denen ein "Expertensystem" von seinem Namen her beansprucht, gemessen zu werden. Die Stellung solcher Expertensysteme in einer zuknftigen "Wissensindustrie" beleuchtet Dr. Hein in seinem eingeladenen Vortrag. Aus dieser Situation heraus mu es eines der wesentlichen Anliegen einer Fachtagung zum Thema Expertensysteme sein, die Beurteilung des Anspruchs, den einen Expertensystem fr ein Anwendungsgebiet erhebt, letztlich dem fachkundigen Besucher der Tagung bzw. Leser dieses Bandes zu berlassen.
