The illustrations in Fables Vol. 9 are absolutely gorgeous, but I found some plot points confusing and ambiguous. Certain character choices felt out of place, which was disappointing. I hope the next volume ties things together better!

Great for Fables series fans
If you've been following Fables, you won't want to miss Volume 9. The blend of fairy tales and modern issues is done so well. I loved seeing more of the backstory for the empire and how it affected the characters we know and love!

Solid read but a bit slow in parts
I enjoyed Fables Vol. 9 but felt some sections dragged on a little too much. The artwork is as beautiful as always, but it didn't have the same momentum as earlier volumes. Still, it's worth picking up if you're invested in the story!
