Inhaltlich unvernderte Neuauflage. Vom Beginn ihrer Forschung an beschftigte sich die Psychologie mit dem Ausdruck von Gefhlen. Die Untersuchung individueller Unterschiede im Emotionsausdruck ist dagegen ein verhltnismig neues Forschungsfeld. Seit den 1980er Jahren entstanden im englischsprachigen Raum diverse Fragebogen, die verschiedene Aspekte emotionaler Expressivitt erheben. Ihre isolierte Entwicklung und mangelnde theoretische Fundierung erschwerte jedoch die Vergleichbarkeit der Instrumente. Erst eine gemeinsame Analyse verschiedener Fragebogen, die 1998 von James J. Gross und Oliver P. John durchgefhrt wurde, fhrte zur Formulierung eines hierarchischen Modells, das fnf Facetten emotionaler Expressivitt beschreibt und sie zueinander in Beziehung setzt. Die Ergebnisse von Gross und John dienten als Ausgangspunkt der eigenen Untersuchungen. Dabei wurde u.a. folgenden Fragen nachgegangen: (1) Lassen sich die Facetten mit deutschen Adaptationen der Fragebogen replizieren? (2) Verndert sich die Struktur, wenn andere Fragebogen verwendet werden? (3) Welche weiteren Komponenten knnten von Interesse sein? Im zweiten Teil wird ein auf der Grundlage dieser Ergebnisse entwickeltes Expressivittsinventar vorgestellt.
