I picked up 'Farce and Fantasy' for a research project on 18th-century entertainment. The book dives deep into the popular plays and comedy genres of the time. It's been a fascinating resource and really enriches my understanding of the era!

As a lover of history, I enjoyed this book a lot. It covers the theatrical scene in Paris beautifully. The details about the societal context behind the entertainment choices were especially interesting. I do wish it had more illustrations, though.

I found 'Farce and Fantasy' informative but a bit challenging to follow at times. The academic tone was a bit heavy for my liking, making it somewhat hard to get through. It's a solid reference, just be prepared for a dense read.
