An introduction to the aims and achievements of feminist literary theory, this reader provides a comprehensive array of extracts from both wellknown and lesserknown sources. Drawing on the writing of approximately 50 French, American and British writers, it makes accessible much of the writing that has until now only been available in journals.

I picked up "Feminist Literary Theory: A Reader" for my graduate literature course, and it's been really engaging. The essays cover a wide range of critical perspectives, though some were a bit dense for my taste. It's a great resource for anyone looking to dive deeper into feminist critiques in literature!

Disappointed with the content
I bought this book thinking it would be a great introduction to feminist literary theory. Unfortunately, several essays felt outdated and didn't resonate with modern issues. The layout was nice, but I was hoping for a more contemporary selection. Not what I was looking for.

More theory than I expected
As someone new to feminist literary theory, this reader was filled with valuable insights but also a lot of heavy theory that made it hard to digest at times. I appreciate the inclusion of diverse voices, but I wish there were more straightforward introductions to each piece. It's a solid collection overall.
