Four researchers in prosthodontics and operative dentistry at the University of Connecticut report their findings from a decade of investigation that has largely overcome the primary reasons why the material, widely successfully elsewhere, had found little application in dentistry. They have primarily focused on developing preimpregnation technology to solve the problems of low fiber content, insufficient fiber wetting, and the difficulty of manipulating free fibers.
