I picked up 'Film Art: An Introduction' for my film studies class, and it's a solid choice. The tutorial CD-ROM was a bonus, making it easier to grasp concepts. The visuals in the book are stunning, and they really help illustrate the points.

Useful but needs more depth
I found this book to be a decent introduction to film, especially for new students. The CD-ROM is nice for tutorials, but some sections felt a bit shallow. I wanted more examples and insights into film analysis. Still, a decent starter resource!
