Diese zwei Worte fassen zusammen, welche Motivation hinter den 13 Spielfilmen des peruanischen Regisseurs steckt, der seit 1977 immer wieder das Abenteuer der Realisierung neuer Filmprojekte wagt. In einem Land, in dem pro Jahr insgesamt nur eine handvoll Filme entstehen. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschftigt sich mit dem Lebenswerk des Regisseurs Francisco Lombardi. Von besonderem Interesse ist dabei die genaue Untersuchung seiner Werke auf deren Bezug zu den Romanen, die einigen von ihnen als Vorlage dienten, und auf das Vorkommen Indigener. Die Arbeit beschftigt sich auerdem mit der Entstehungsgeschichte des Films in Peru. Von den ersten Filmproduktionen und der ersten Filmvorfhrung im Jahre 1897 geht sie ber zur Einfhrung von Ton und Farbe im Film. Desweiteren sind der Cine Club Cuzco, die Grupo Chaski und die Frauenfilmgruppe Warmi wichtig im Verlauf der Entwicklung und werden nher betrachtet. Dieser zweite Teil der Arbeit zielt darauf ab, den Verlauf der Filmentwicklung in Peru unter den vorherrschenden politischen, wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Umstnden darzustellen.
