The world of television news service has radically changed recently. The number of television channels has been increasing and competitors fight to get higher ratings and shares is becoming harder. What earlier used to be a conservative news service programme is now becoming a place full of press stunts, cute animals and so on. The aim of the news service is not any more only communication of quality information, currently it is mainly to draw the viewer's attention and entertain, which gave rise to the genre of final reportage (?final dot?). Commercial televisions regularly include this genre in their news service schemes, whereas Czech TV ? the only publicservice television in the CZ ? is more careful, however cannot do without it either. This book therefore provides the reader with instructions for final reportage production as well as with the definition of this genre, its origin and its characteristic features in practice. It can be useful for young reporters or anybody who is interested in TV news service or final dot in the concrete whether to understand the tendencies in Czech news service or to enhance own creative skills.
