Das Finanzwesen unterliegt zur Zeit einen raschen Wandel. Die Einfhrung des Euro in den meisten EU Lndern, die Finanzkrise in Asien sowie die Fusionswelle bei Banken und Versicherungen weisen auf Vernderungen mit globalen Ausmaen hin. Zur Erluterung der Thematik dieser Arbeit soll zunchst der Frage, was ein Finanzplatz denn eigentlich zu einem solchen macht, nachgegangen werden. In den weiteren Punkten wird dargelegt, wie die Finanzpltze London, Paris und Frankfurt im einzelnen aussehen. Hier wird auf die historische Entwicklung des Finanzplatzes eingegangen, aber auch auf seine Bedeutung fr die Stadt und das Land. Darber hinaus wird seine Stellung in Europa untersucht. Weiterhin soll der Finanzplatzwettbewerb in Europa sowie die Zukunft des europischen Finanzmarkt in einer Welt ohne Grenzen dargelegt werden. Die Literaturlage ist ein wenig geteilt. Es gibt eine groe Anzahl an Bchern und Artikeln in Fachzeitschriften, die sich mit Finanzen und oder mit der Globalisierung allgemein beschftigen. Die Literatur, welche die Finanzpltze direkt beschreibt ist im deutschsprachigen Raum hingegen relativ gering. Dies trifft nicht auf Frankfurt zu, wohl aber auf die Dokumentation ber Paris und London. Hier muss man auf eine kleinere Auswahl deutschsprachiger Literatur beschrnken oder aber auf die in englischer und franzsischer Sprache erschienenen verschiedene Literatur zurck greifen.
