Nachdem institutionelle Anleger seit einiger Zeit steigende Aktivitten an den Rohstoffmrkten zeigen, rcken diese auch fr private Anleger zunehmend in den Fokus. Ins Rampenlicht gelangten die Rohstoffe (englisch commodities) fr ein breites Publikum vor allem whrend der einmaligen Rally (in der Brsensprache ein rascher, krftiger Kursanstieg) der Jahre 2007 und 2008. Rohl, Weizen, Mais und Sojabohnen stiegen auf Rekordwerte und brachen dann Ende 2008 dramatisch ein. Unter Experten wird die Verwendung des Begriffes Blase fr diese Entwicklung auf dem Rohstoffmarkt kontrovers diskutiert, eine deutliche berbewertung der Kurse lsst sich jedoch kaum von der Hand weisen. Vom Begriff unabhngig werden Finanzspekulationen an diesen Mrkten zwar keine urschliche Schuld, jedoch ein groer Einfluss auf den Verlauf und das Volumen dieser historischen Wertentwicklung attestiert. Seitdem wird die Rolle von Spekulanten an diesen Mrkten uerst unterschiedlich bewertet, da sie zum einen fr eine signifikante Liquidittssteigerung der Mrkte stehen, vielen dieser Akteure jedoch mangelndes Verstndnis fr die zu handelnde Ware, bzw. Unerfahrenheit an den Rohstoffmrkten vorgeworfen wird. Ich mchte mich in dieser Arbeit zum einen mit dieser Problematik, aber auch mit den Folgen solch rasanter Wertanstiege und dramatischer Kurseinbrche befassen. Unter den Rohstoffmrkten gilt mein Hauptaugenmerk den Agrarrohstoffen (englisch soft commodities). Zunchst gilt es die Verflechtung zwischen Rohstoff und Finanzmrkten zu verdeutlichen. Am Beispiel Kaffee mchte ich die Folgen extremer Kursbewegungen fr Betriebe am Ende der Wertschpfungskette, untersttzt durch eigene Erfahrungen aus der Perspektive eines kleinen Familienunternehmens, aufzeigen
