Utilizing a practical approach based on experience, the author provides an overview of the various programs that a Fire Marshal might be required to manage, offers guidance for managing these programs, and provides information on various ways Fire Marshals can make a difference within their communities.About the AuthorTimothy Bradley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology and an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program. Tim is recognized as a Fellow (FIFireE) by the Institute of Fire Engineers. He has been a Certified Fire and Rescue Instructor since 1980, teaching in departments across the state and country. He holds certifications as a Firefighter; Rescue Technician; Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator; Life Safety Educator; Hazardous Materials Responder; Fire/Arson Investigator; and Fire Officer. Mr. Bradley chaired the National Fire Protection Associations Professional Qualification Committee for Fire Instructor for 15 years and served as Chairman of the Board of Governors for the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) for 14 years. He is a member of the Executive Board of the National Association of State Fire Marshals; the NC Board of Examiners for Electrical Contractors; the International Accreditation Society Board; and serves on the Advisory Board of the NC Jaycee Burn Center. Mr. Bradley has been awarded numerous awards including North Carolina's Firefighter of the Year Award, the Firehouse Magazines Heroism Award, the State Employee Award of Excellence, and the J. Faherty Casey Award.
