Fisheries structure and characteristics including fishing gears and crafts, postharvest handling and processing, species composition and relative abundance, fishing effort and catch per unit effort (cpue) have been adequately studied and reported. Interestingly, the environmental setup and the physicochemical characteristics of the lower white Volta River have analysed and well presented in this book. The book explores the relationship between water level and cpue in the lower reaches of the White Volta River. It is a useful guide for those conducting tropical fisheries research as relevant research methods and their limitations have been adequately discussed.
