Esta coleccin constituye un sistema ameno y accesible para familiarizar a los nios con la lectura de cuentos y para acercarlos al mundo de la comunicacin y representacin matemtica. Cada cuento propone el conocimiento de un nmero (del 1 al 10, ms el 0), que podr identificarse de forma auditiva (al escucharlo repetidas veces a lo largo de la historia) y visual (al ver la grafa de la cifra destacada en el texto). La coleccin incluye propuestas de juego que inciden en aspectos como la comprensin e interpretacin del contenido del cuento, la identificacin de los primeros nmeros, la asociacin de imgenes a nmeros, la conexin con experiencias de la vida cotidiana, la estimulacin y ampliacin de vocabulario y conocimientos matemticos, la prctica de la expresin grfica, la coordinacin visomotriz, la creatividad e imaginacin, etc. Como ltimo juego, se proponen dos actividades: la primera consiste en colorear y recortar una carta con la que los nios podrn conformar una baraja de nmeros, y la segunda, en colorear y recortar asimismo un nmero que les posibilitar la formacin de series de cifras.
