Dentro del contexto de la crisis de la Modernidad, las propuestas actuales acerca de la educacin humanista resaltan la necesidad de la formacin filosfica del docente en la educacin para el siglo XXI. De acuerdo con los presupuestos tericos de la racionalidad instrumental, en referencia a la educacin, y donde se concibe la enseanza como aprendizaje mediante destrezas tcnicas, el papel del docente se reduce a un tcnico especializado en la aplicacin de un conjunto de reglas para orientar la conducta de los alumnos y, de esta manera, permitir el proceso de aprendizaje. En este trabajo destacamos la importancia de la formacin del docente venezolano en la educacin para el siglo XXI, cuyas propuestas emergen a partir de la crtica al modelo educativo tecnocrtico instrumental. Proponemos una formacin del docente que supere el modelo instrumental positivista de mediosfines, tpicamente operacional, mediante el dilogo y la construccin intersubjetiva de los saberes.
