Fractal Functions, Fractal Surfaces, and Wavelets is the first systematic exposition of the theory of fractal surfaces, a natural outgrowth of fractal sets and fractal functions. It is also the first treatment to bring these general considerations to bear on the burgeoning field of wavelets. The text is based on Massopusts work on and contributions to the theory of fractal functions, and the author uses a number of toolsincluding analysis, topology, algebra, and probability theoryto introduce readers to this new subject. Though much of the material presented in this book is relatively current (developed in the past decade by the author and his colleagues) and fairly specialized, an informative background is provided for those First systematic treatment of fractal surfaces Links fractals and wavelets Provides background for those entering the field Contains color insert

This book has a ton of information on fractals, but it was more technical than I expected. I think it's better suited for someone with a solid background in math. Still, the illustrations are beautiful!

Great for advanced math studies!
I bought the Fractal Functions book for my graduate level mathematics course. The explanations of fractal surfaces and wavelets are clear and in-depth. Definitely a great resource for anyone looking to dive deep into this topic!

Disappointed with the content
I was really looking forward to this book, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Some sections felt rushed and the explanations were lacking. I expected more depth given the title. Definitely not for casual readers!
