Les auteurs francophones vivent et crivent souvent dans des contextes plurilingues; ainsi, un des traits marquants des littratures francophones est de placer au coeur de la problmatique identitaire une rflexion sur la langue et sur la manire darticuler les rapports entre la langue et la littrature. La complexit de ces rapports, gnralement conflictuels donne lieu des formes de surconscience linguistique (Gauvin 1997). Quatre oeuvres provenant daires francophones fort diffrentes et leur traduction respectives ont t analyss (Les bellessoeurs, Nuit de silence Tanger, Les soleils des indpendance, Texaco). Cette tude vise saisir de quelle faon il est possible de traduire les rapports sociolinguistiques entre les langues. Les difficults et les stratgies mises en place par les traducteurs italiens ont t analyses grce llaboration dun modle danalyse qui considre: le contexte de la cration de loeuvre; la reprsentation de loeuvre face au public cible;les signifis dnotatifs et connotatifs des lexmes diatopiquement marqus et des nologismes dauteur; les techniques de traduction employes.
