In der hier vorliegenden Arbeit soll anhand der Erzhlung Josefine, die Sngerin oder Das Volk der Muse von Franz Kafka gezeigt werden, wie verschiedene Methoden der Textinterpretation (sozialgeschichtlicher und biographischer Ansatz und die Theorie der Gender Studies) einerseits zu verschiedenen Deutungen des Textes fhren, andererseits aber auch in Ergnzung zueinander zu einer schlssigen Gesamtinterpretation beitragen knnen. Die JosefineErzhlung ist die letzte Erzhlung Franz Kafkas und gehrt zu den Texten, die Kafka selbst fr so gelungen hielt, dass er sie verffentlichen wollte. In der Prager Presse' erscheint der Text (dort noch mit dem Titel Josefine, die Sngerin) dann auch in der Osterausgabe am 20. April 1924. Spter erschien sie neben den Erzhlungen Erstes Leid, Eine kleine Frau und Ein Hungerknstler als vierte und letzte in dem Band 'Ein Hungerknstler'. Kafka starb wenig spter am 3. Juni 1924.
