Su vida fue ejemplo exaltado del prototipo que se quiso imponer en la gente novohispana (en este caso el estudio se centra en Quertaro). A travs de la lectura de ese libro se puede observar que el imaginario social fue orientado por el imaginario religioso, pero no desde las normas del culto que estableca la Iglesia catlica, sino desde la religin doctrinaria que marcaba el reencuentro con Dios. Un reencuentro siempre marcado por la insatisfaccin, que estaba dado previamente por la imitacin de una conducta ejemplar que, por un lado, era ensalzada, pero, por otro lado, se adverta que tal prctica social estaba reservada solamente para los elegidos de Dios, los puros, los que haba tocado el Seor con su dedo.
